I love the different seasons in the Midwest USA watching birds migrate, nest and breed.
The male colors to attract the female birds can be so bright and visible. The male Oriole filled my backyard with activity and had to fill the bird feeders almost daily.
This is one of the newer pieces where I was push the color intensity and contrast. Reminding me of the the backyard frenzy of color.
Materials used:
Plaster, texturizing tools, palette knife, acrylic washes, oil paint
