This unframed print is the view down one of the lanes where I live in Devon. The oak has grown so big it almost spans the road and fills the sky when you walk past.
I made it by drawing the image on to a piece of blue vinyl, which is like lino but harder, then carving it with lino-cutting and wood-engraving tools. This is what creates the distinctive style - which is somewhere between a linocut and a wood engraving.
It is printed on Somerset 250gsm printmaking paper using Caligo safewash lightfast inks, and titled and signed in pencil below the image.
