My figure studies are not about the perfect human form, but about true human form. I prefer using models that look like real people. With this work my aim was to achieve a decent study without rendering every detail. Some details like the shadow of the arm over the torso can be powerful enough to "complete" a drawing even when other details are absent or only hinted at.
The medium is primarily pastels on regular cartridge paper, painted over with a solvent to smooth out the texture. It's a great way to recreate the "feel" of skin.
