I spotted this field of last years dried teasels cycling back along by the river in Sandwich Kent. There were masses of them standing like soldiers on an area of waste ground just waiting to be painted. I shall return again in the summer to paint them with their prickly purple flowers. I've used mixed media; oil, ink and watercolour in warm orange and brown hues to produce a mixed media interpretation of this landscape scene. Painted on canvas and mounted into mountboard . Sealed for durability. I have framed it in a complimentary quality old gilt coloured frame for a classical look.
