FEMME IV is adapted from a sculpture featured in the South Australian Art Gallery.
Like most of my artwork it aims to explore stereotypes and symbols of femininity. Historically one of the strongest stereotypes of the feminine in art include the virgin or mother of god and the nude. This print draws upon the way these have been represented and attempts to abstract this in the flat, print form.
FEMME IV is printed on 100% cotton printmaking paper using archival ink.
White, matted frame.
