Artist's description:

In honor of the day of the dead celebrations, I have created a series of paintings using traditional day of the dead imagery--marigolds, skeletons, skeletons of horses, people and in this painting, the skeleton of a cat.

My Inspiration:

“Name the different kinds of people,’ said Miss Lupescu. ‘Now.’
Bod thought for a moment. ‘The living,’ he said. ‘Er. The dead.’ He stopped. Then, ‘... Cats?’ he offered, uncertainly.”
― Neil Gaiman, The Graveyard Book

“Through all this horror my cat stalked unperturbed. Once I saw him monstrously perched atop a mountain of bones, and wondered at the secrets that might lie behind his yellow eyes.”
― H.P. Lovecraft, The Rats in the Walls

NOTE. paintings are signed in the lower right corner as well as on the back
