This work is of a small farm surrounded by woodland just west of the Roman fort remains at Great Chesters. It was developed as most of my paintings are from sketches during a recent trip to the area. It was a pleasant August day although bright there was a cool wind. This water colour is on a very rough, specialist paper that is hand made in India. I wanted to add texture and to emphasise the loneliness of the pure white building, this paper was excellent for that.
High quality water colours on rough, handmade, acid free & moulded paper
