This work evokes the meandering motion of mackerel as they move weaving and darting through the ocean.
The background was painted wet into wet to describe the changing light under the water and each fish has more than 5 layers of watercolour wash including two iridescent shimmering glazes.
The iridescent medium in this work is subtle but pops out when viewed in oblique sunlight evoking the flash of silver as a fish swims by.
It is has given me an excuse to use my favourite palette of blues, green, turquoise and violet- gorgeous!
This work has been framed in a stylish lime washed beechwood frame and is ready to hang.
A work about packaging and shipping:
I almost always recycle outside packaging, being a good planetarian but rest assured while it does not look pretty it will be well protected with bubble wrap and card inside.
I ship larger items via Courier that normally takes 5 working days, and smaller items via the Royal Mail.
