Original artwork description:
Faerie Fire was part of a series of miniature abstract watercolour paintings that I made in 2015 to explore the properties of watercolour. In this one I was playing with the clarity and transparency of the colours.
It is an expressive work. The feeling of play is captured in the brushstrokes. It is bright and colourful, and reminds me of falling leaves and rising flames, which is why I named it Faerie Fire.
This artwork is mounted and framed in a square white frame behind glass. (I took the glass out of the frame whilst taking the photographs, so that there aren't any reflections).
