Taken from photographs and a number of preliminary drawings, this screen print depicts the glow of the evening sun lighting the distinctly pyramidal flanks of Grasmoor's westerly slopes.
The actual view point is somewhere between Lanthwaite Wood at the western end of Crummock Water and the footpath that takes you up the side of Mellbreak.
This image is taken from a series called ‘The Crummock Water Round’, an ongoing project to document a 2-day walk from Keswick to Buttermere Youth Hostel and back again.
The screen print is created using 8 seperate colour stencils, each layered and registered on-top of one another to create the final print.
Printed on 300gsm Canaletto using water based inks
