Artist's description:

Entering Glen Coe – original painting by Julie Arbuckle Scottish Artist

This painting, which is oil and paper on canvas, is a composite view of the gateway to Glen Coe. The Buachaille Etive Mor is the main feature, as it is in real life upon approaching Glen Coe from the south. The work is painted in oils and also incorporates paper elements : details of maps from the area and also sketches I have done whilst walking in the hills around Glen Coe.

Glencoe is in the West Highlands of Scotland, between Rannoch Moor and the Kings House Hotel and the village of Glencoe. Steeped in history and folklore, it is a fascinating and dramatic area well loved by walkers, climbers and sight-seers.
