Artwork description:

Dent de Leon, Dandelions, the ultimate survivor, cut it down, it just grows again, attracting bees and other insects, so now, I glory in the little suns in my garden, they are there for a reason!

An aquatint etching, is printed from a copper plate, or in this case, 3 copperplates that I have incised with my drawing with the help of acid. I then add a technique called aquatint which gives the lovely shades of color. This is all a bit complicated and peoples eyes tend to start glazing over when I explain how it is done :o)) You can go to the "me at work" , there you find a film that shows you how an etching is made and printed, or you can just say, ok, - it is all handmade, handprinted from start to finish, and that is good enough for me! ;o))

For each and every print in the short edition of 60 prints, the copper plates have to be inked again, I print all my own prints with the best inks and on the best paper.
Once dry they are signed, titled and numbered by me.

The paper I have printed "Lions Teeth" on measures 10" x 18" (45 cm x 25 cm)
with the actual printed area measuring 6" x 14" (15 cm x 36 cm )

I ship from my studio in Denmark, with many years experience in packing my prints so they arrive safely, for peace of mind, see my over 900 reviews.

See you soon again, Mariann
