During the past year, I had a great resurgence of creative flow with painting that began in December ('14) when I had to help my son with making a replica of a Native American Wampum Belt. I've since painted close to a hundred works. The first two pieces were on un-stretched and unprimed canvas. "Emergence" is the first piece on stretched canvas. It is an apt name for being the representative piece of this creative return to art that I'm experiencing. For a while, I didn't want to sell this work because of what it represented in the story of my work. Now I realize that is precisely why I ought to allow a new owner to take it. When you collect an artist's work, you are involved in the stewardship of his/her artistic career, of the narrative of his/her artistic becoming.
