Original artwork description:

◾The last of my series on Violeta Parra, a tribute to Violeta, the visual artista, the embroideress, the painter and the ceramist.
In this painting, I represent Violet Parra embroidering her burlap “Against War”, that I love more because is an ever-present theme and I think is a very interesting work ls used in a very creative way. In the background I focus on her symbols of life and death. Upstairs is a dead pigeon on one side and a tree of life of the other. Is too the eye of her exhibition at the Louvre and part of her self portrait embroidery and the heart is a symbol of love which was her main search.

Violeta becomes the first Latin American woman artist who expose individually at the Louvre
◾“In her paintings and burlaps employs a huge number of colors, each saying a feeling. On an occasion she explained:.. “Things are simply, I dont know to design, I invent everything and everyone can do it. I dont know to draw and I dont do any drawings, before starting my tapestries, but I’m seeing little by little, which I should put. I’m filling the spaces in my tapestries … And with my paintings: they are all in my head like my songs”.

Materials used:
