This is an oil painting of Ellen, one of my favorite models. I painted it very quickly, in 25 minutes. I like short poses because they force me to make marks that are more gestural. The energetic, active strokes convey her personality.
I painted her image on Yupo paper, which is not absorbent. The paint slid around, and I could also draw on it with pencil.
