I painted “Efflorescence” in 2016. The size is 24″ x 20″ x 1.5″, and the medium is acrylic on canvas. The style is visionary impressionism, which is a style I've developed by combining the styles of visionary art, surrealism, and impressionism.
I've provided photos of the front of the painting and detail images. The painting is signed on the front, and it comes with a certificate of authenticity. It is also wired and ready to hang.
I had a lot of fun with this one. I used a variety of paint application techniques…brush, palette knives, dripping, squeezing, and even smearing with my fingers while wearing gloves. The result is an impasto painting with a colorful, highly textured look and feel.
By definition, efflorescence is "the time and process of budding and unfolding of blossoms". The painting depicts flowers in a vase. The vase is also a face, which is an exploration of the blossoming of personal growth.
