This abstract painting was created at the beginning of May 2014 after spending an extended period of time staying by the sea. I grew in Scarborough, North Yorkshire so I have a strong bond with the sea and I love trying to express how the sea makes me feel. In 'Echoes of Summer' I wanted to capture the ebb and flow of the tide on Scarborough's North Bay, the interplay of light and the rhythmic motion.
The oil paints are a high quality pigment and a high quality stretched linen. I use a greener alternative to traditional turpentine and white spirit.
