Artist's description:

Title: Dry Dock Huddle

Medium: Hand pulled 8.5 x 7 inch Monotype

Support: Arches Cover

Process: See the process photos in the listing for more information.
Monotypes are made by painting on a smooth (not etched) plate, and pressing the still-wet pigments against paper on an etching press to create a print of the painted image. For this piece, I used Caran D'Ache Crayons & Watercolor on a frosted mylar sheet.

Edition: This is an edition of 1 (one).

Frame: The art is offered here matted & framed, in a relief pattern wood with an australian motif, ready to hang on your wall.

Story: You can see my reference photo next to the mylar plate in process in my listing photos - I snapped the photo with a film camera while visiting my step dad in the Channel Island's CA marina. The image is under exposed and grainy, but I still thought it had great potential to use as a reference in a piece of art.

Materials used:

ink, paper
