Artist's description:

Beach combing is an endlessly fascinating occupation, We were in Canada, wandering along a wind swept beach in September, when I came across two wonderfully textured pieces of driftwood. They were too big to fit in my suitcase so I took photographs and worked up two paintings when I returned home. Looking at them now reminds me of that beach walk on a chilly, wet day after which we drank hot chocolate and thawed out by a blazing log fire.

Materials used:

oil pastels,acrylic,pencil, oil pastel paper.
