I spotted these brightly coloured and attractive looking Donkeys on a beach in sunny Weymouth, England while visiting with my parents.
I saw one was young, the other his elder.
I thought of how long this tradition had been going on, donkeys from one generation to the next carrying children up and down this beach. I thought I would express this sense of generational legacy in the title Donkey & Son as when a son inherits his father's shop or business.
It is a slightly bitter sweet title although these donkeys were so well cared for and loved by their owners I have to say.
There is a poignancy there nonetheless, as there is with a business being bequeathed and your future planned for you.
