Don't you love the music of Steely Dan?

Donald Fagen musician, songwriter and co-founder of the group Steely Dan.

A superb songwriter, pianist and vocalist the co-founder of the group Steely Dan. Donald Fagen and Walter Becker began their songwriting partnership in the early 70's with a string of superb albums like "Katy Lied" "Countdown to Ecstasy", "Can't Buy a Thrill", "Pretzel Logic", "The Royal Scam", "Aja" and "Gaucho". Steely Dan disbanded in 1981. Their music was always beautifully produced and recorded with the best session musicians of the day.

After Steely Dan split Donald released "The Nightly" in 1982 his first album as a solo artist, it went platinum.

Steely Dan reformed in the mid 90's with the album "Live in America" and "Two Against Nature" released in 2000. Donald is still a busy and active musician releasing "Sunken Condos" in 2012.

Donald Fagen celebrated his 68th birthday on January the 10th of this year 2016.

I painted this portrait to remind me of all the fantastic music he has given to the world.

I visited Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA in 1999. Donald is an alumni and graduate of Berklee College.
