Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This is a half size interpretation of a dodo, the flightless bird. Cousin of the common pigeon, with the arrival of man it stood very little chance in its ancestral home in Madagascar which was ransacked by dogs cats and rats and disease.

This sculpture is made from Nepalese mountain grass paper which has an essence of its own tragedy; made by hand this paper was made in the area devastated by the recent 10 magnitude earthquake, therefor making a dodo from this paper seemed a poignant reminder that nothing lasts forever.

Materials used:

nepalese grass paper hand made card wood wire
