This dog series combines my love of painting figures-in-motion while also letting the natural wood grain shine. This little piece is 7 3/8"x 7 3/8" by 5/8" deep solid chunk of cherry and comes wired and ready-to-hang with no frame needed.
I first seal the natural wood surface with several coats of professional grade sealer and complete the piece with archival acrylic and oil paints, then a light varnish. The wood grain is most visible in the thin passages of the dock.
