- Only when the artwork is definitely sold, the artist signs it and signs also the document from the gallery that issues the certification of authenticity.
- Should you have (or if you are offered) an artwork that is signed by the artists and is accompanied by a certificate coming from a gallery that is allowed to write authentification cerificates, everything should be OK.
- In all other cases you should contact the gallery that is allowed to write the authentification certificate. They can check the authenticity of the work, and eventually let it sign by the artist if the legal precence on the market is guaranteed.

This particular artwork is certified by the artist and the gallery. It will be delivered to you with the signature of the artist on it and with the certificate of authenticity signed by the certifying gallery and the artist.

However you approach it, Herman van Nazareth is without doubt a Belian/South African artist – who came into being out of the African soil from this earth. From the day he set foot on South African soil in 1965, his work has been influenced by this continent. South Africa is where he studied and made his enormous contribution to the development of a new and modern idiom in South African art. Despite the satirical comment his work delivers, it is not political, but rather concerns itself with universal matters.
His work is represented in all the public art museums throughout the country and in countless corporate and private collections. He is also proudly included in the catalogues of national exhibitions and he has represented South Africa and Belgium in international exhibitions. When he is not in Belgium, the place where he feels most at home is Jakkalsfontein, on the bleak West Coast.
Herman van Nazareth lives and works in Belgium and in South-Africa.
