acrylic colour on Fabriano artistico rough, cotton paper, acid free 300g weight 22 x 30 in., 56 x 76 cm.
This idea is inspired from photos from my abbot (Sayadaw) in Hsipaw, Myanmar. But what caught my attention is the size of the statue in proportion to the abbot. I try here to include a photo of the scene. I wanted to capture this size contrast while interpreting it in an expressionist manner, with a loose movement of paint and brush stroke to make you question wether the scene is real or fantasy. It’s also a play of colours red and yellow/gold.
