Dazzled…
Rush hour traffic mirrors the magic hour during rush hour in Culver City, California.

I’m always on the lookout for dramatic moments of intense color. I happened upon a spectacular Culver City magic hour—one of those rare moments when sky, light, traffic, and palm trees all merge in a burst of reflections and motion. I snapped a quick reference photo, and was ready to interpret the scene in many layers of oil paint. The finished work has a feeling of liquid-light and seems to glow from within.

My Artistic Inspiration…
As an urbanscape, expressionistic oil painter, I’m passionate about intense color and deep contrast. My inspirations are the fluid light, dramatic vistas and stark landscapes of California and the Southwest. I paint with a vibrant palette and expressive brushstrokes to share my vision of an essence of the urban experience. I hope that the viewer will be inspired to see the world around them in a new light.
