This cute little 6x6" original oil painting was such a fun exercise in fast painting! As the sun quickly poured into the Columbia River Gorge, on the Oregon and Washington State border, I was staged and ready to go around 6 am. Having already painted a sunrise piece that same morning, I was firing on all cylinders and really soaking in the experience. As soon as the light show began moving just as I wanted it, I dived right in. Focusing on the subtle shifts in color temperature as the warm light poured into the gorge and between the mountains.
I'm not really a morning person. But for experiences like this one, I am eager and willing to do just about anything. <3
