Original artwork description:

I'm fascinated by the rich bright colours of the sunset in the autumn and winter and the contrasting dark shadows on the land. The sun seems to beckon us, a promise of golden light and joyfulness in another land streaked with reds, pinks, oranges, and maeves.
Like much of my work the sun is a home for flying things. In this piece it is full of bird's wings.

Materials used:

vitreous glass tile, ceramic tile, Venetian gold leaf glass, on plywood, framed in a wood frame
