Artist's description:

Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, was not only Mr Spock. He was also a prolific photographer, who published a collection of photographs, called "The Full Body Project", that starred the fuller-figured members of a burlesque group called the Fat Bottom Revue; the knowledge that many women felt at least some shame for their figures really bothered him and he set out to show the world that there’s beauty to be found in different body types.

I found his wonderful photos years ago and decided I wanted to try and capture in paint what he had captured so well with his camera - this painting is a detail from one of his wonderful photos - more will follow!
