Dance by the Light, Cuillins, Isle of Skye

Limited Edition Number of only 10 at this size.
Free shipping to UK, Europe and NA.

The Cuillins of Skye lie dark on the horizon on a bright moonlit night near Loch Ainort. On the ancient Isle of Skye tales abound of giants, witches and fairy folk with magical powers for good and evil. It is said that the fairy folk, or Daoine Sithe as they are known on Skye, are fallen angels that hide in woods, caves and fairy mounds. On a moolit night on the small, single track road that leads around the coastline of Loch Ainort, I could easily imagine them dancing across the water.

I used a special set of techniques with my camera to capture this image and then worked to bring out the best of the fabulous colours of the Scottish landscape. I love the combination of these dusky blues and yellows.

This is also available as a fine art print on paper in various sizes. If you don't see the size you are looking for or if you would like to see a mock up of a room with colours of your own home then just drop me a line.

LIMITED EDITION Fine Art Canvas (unmounted)
40 x 40 inch final size.
Signed on the side and provided with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

I photograph and print every image, I do not outsource any part of my workflow. Each canvas has been painstakingly crafted to ensure the true colours, resolution and texture are exactly as they should be.

For these special small editions of my work I use Canson® Infinity Museum ProCanvas. This fabulous 100% cotton canvas has been designed "for professionals producing true Fine Art Reproductions that require precision images with a very high resolution".

Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper and canvas for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, Canson has the choice of many famous artists such as Picasso, Ingres, Chagal and Miro to name but a few. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.

The canvas is printed and quality checked by me, it is then varnished with two coats of Hannemuhle matte varnish to protect it from scratches. Unless you wish otherwise, the print is made with a gallery wrap - this means the outer edges have been prepared to wrap round a frame of 1.5 - 2 inches. This gives the illusion of 3D when it is hung on the wall. It is not mounted on the frame due to the difficulty of shipping such a large item but I included an example of how a wrapped canvas looks from the side. It is rolled and shipped in a tube so it will arrive in perfect condition.

By using beautiful Canson Museum ProCanvas paper combining it with the fabulous non-fade Epson Ultrachrome K3 with Vivid Magenta inkset of 9 colours, I can produce a print of exceptional quality which will last a lifetime without fading.
