Original artwork description:

This is a painting of a Cuckoo came about during a chance occurrence upon hearing a Cuckoo leading me to making this painting.

It seemed apt at the time, thinking about how these birds take over another bird's nest, removing the other's eggs and leaving their egg for the nest owner to raise, being able to lay the similar colour eggs as the host bird, symbolic about how particular histories can over-rule another, covering, obscuring or even removing to replace with particular narratives.

Materials used:

Oil Paint on Canvas
