I was growing up in the city of Pécs (Hungary). I loved the inspiring, eventful cultural city it was in the seventies. It is Hungary's fourth biggest city, full of galleries, museums, schools and universities. It was also called a ‘university town’ because it had many universities and schools compared to its population.
My pictures of Pécs remind me of the time when I was walking daily on the two thousand-year-old stones of the ancient streets. I love the old part of the city, I painted them on the paintings about Pécs.
The artwork was inspired by the statue of György Kiss called "Jubilee Crucifix"

In recent years, I have used OSB as a basis. By retracting the paint layers, I use the texture of the veneer as part of my compositions to create a unique rustic industrial atmosphere. Due to the OSB board, these works of art are very stable but heavy. This is recycled art.
The painting is made with self-made paint, which consists of pigments and beeswax. Does not contain oil or other paints.
The procedure itself dates back to antiquity and has been known for thousands of years. Only a few artists around the world work with wax on its own.

Artworks made with encaustic are characterized by bright color and silky light. Thanks to the well-preserving properties of the wax, the colors do not fade over time and retain their liveliness.

This work will be delivered with Care Instructions for my encaustic paintings and a signed certificate of authenticity. Carefully packaged and tracked shipping. I ship this work in cardboard boxes carefully wrapped in bubble foil and protect the painting with cardboard.
