Artist's description:

Hand coloured cross section of a Hawthorne which was felled on site at Lancing College, Worthing. This specimen suffered from myriad pathogens, resulting in compartmentalisation of decay within the timber or 'CODIT' as identified by Dr. Alex L. Shigo.

This relief print has been hand burnished onto Atsukuchi paper: A lightweight but incredibly strong Japanese printmaking paper.

The artwork has been bespoke framed in solid burl timber and is housed under archive grade mount card and UV protective glass.

Materials used:

Oil based ink & colour pencils

Crataegus monogina (Framed) (2015)
