Artist's description:

This is a view from near my campsite in Craggy Wash north of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Camping in the Wash is regulated by the Bureau of Land Management and is the best anywhere in the area. There are unlimited compositional opportunities for painting in this undeveloped backcountry. The brilliantly colored yellowish green palo verde trees are common throughout the area and contrast strongly with the dark reds and purples of the cliff faces. This is a unique work of art painted alla prima on location.

Materials used:

Oil paint on gessoed whiteboard
