This painting came from a series of artworks where I randomly put eyes, noses, mouths and ears from different photos into a new photo fit face. I used features from men and women , old and young and of different scales and aspects to create a strange new face. The results were often like Frankenstein's monster and seemed startling. They also seemed to have have a heightened emotional sense. I blew up a favourite small face into a massive painting and used moulding paste and plaster to build up the features for a more 3 dimensional look.
