Artist's description:

The painting is a depiction of inner strength and a representation of overcoming humiliation others may cause. The West End star is looking at her reflection in the mirror, following a bad reaction from her audience. The refection that she sees looking back at her is not that of the beautiful actress, it is in fact a clown. The lady in the painting is seeing what she thinks other people saw when she performed on stage.
