This wirework sculpture is inspired by my friend's chestnut thoroughbred horse. It is made by twisting strands of non-tarnish copper wire to build up the shape of a fine-limbed slender horse.
Whereas many of my sculptures involve quite densely woven wire I have tried to limit the wire in this one so that the open weave illustrates the fine lines and curves that make up these beautiful animals whilst is also suggestive of the fragility and grace that come with animals as a whole.
Non-tarnish Copper wire.
