Original artwork description:

McCullock's aluminium resin paintings are constructed in layers. Initially in a gestural manner, then becoming more complex with each layer. By adding colour and cells she obscures the metal base. The final layer is purely creating the unique texture- the defining indicator of Rachel's work.

Many layers of resin have been applied to the textured heart and surrounding background. Inks and metallic pigments have been applied between the layers thus producing a 3 -dimensional effect and a wow factor. The surface of the painting is pitted with texture and has been treated with a matte varnish to enhance and protect.

The resultant aluminium panel has then been firmly secured to a box canvas whose sides have been painted, thus alleviating the need to frame. This painting is supplied with hardware , ready to pop straight onto your wall.
