Hares are a favourite subject of mine. This one is painted using a reference photograph by Joel Whalley, used with very kind permission.
I love the way the hare strikes a relaxed pose with it's ears lowered and the way the sunlight glances of his fur. I also like the way he is framed by the long grass.
