Original artwork description:

I was thrilled when I found this cobalt blue glass compote, with its gold trim in my local antique emporium, I couldn't wait to get home and make it the center of a still life. Since orange is the color complement of blue, that fruit seemed the natural one, and then the gold teapot, and the small base of a Japanese tea caddy seemed to complete the them of tea and oranges, suggestive of my favorite black tea, thus the title. This 20x16 inch painting is on linen on hardboard, framed in a 2-inch wide gold frame with a slim band of maroon between gold bans (see image). The frame brings the overall dimensions to 24x20 inches. Signed on the front, it is signed and dated again on the back, and ships with a digitally-registered Certificate of Authenticity.

Materials used:

oil paint, stretched linen, varnish
