Artist's description:

One morning in Mexico City, an earthquake jostled me out of the hotel and into the Art Deco neighborhood of Condesa. For a couple midmorning hours it felt as though time stopped. With the power cut off and no sense of urgency, the locals were walking their dogs through Parque Mexico and chatting with neighbors. I joined in for a leisurely stroll and a first look around the neighborhood.

The streets of Condesa are mottled with puddles of morning shade. It gives the neighborhood a sleepy, peaceful feel. Fuchsia bougainvillea climb up the walls of deco buildings. I had to stop for this doorway and its hundreds of little blue tiles like dew drops. Just an ordinary office placard on the door had me imagining passing through this entryway to my desk every morning.
