Artist's description:

I did this abstract still-life using drawings of objects and fabrics i set up at the time when i was inspired by the work of de Stael and William Scott and similar artists. I was never very keen on American abstract expressionism now on show at the RA though i admire Rothko. This and another abstract composition was on show in a gallery in St Christophers Place run by an ex Art Tutor.(Hornsey?) and had a mention by Max Wykes Joyce a critic at the time.
