The common sandpiper is a small wading bird often found on the shores of the UK. It forages by sight on the ground or in shallow water, picking up small food items such as insects, crustaceans and other invertebrates. Sometimes it can even catch passing insects in flight!
Dry brushed and penciled watercolour was applied to a loose woven fabric paper mix in many thin layers.
Parts of the image were then embroidered using free motion machine embroidery.
The piece is mounted on propitiatory brand cream mounting board. It is available mounted only, or framed to order (please email for framing options and costs as these will vary with preferences). Prices given in shipping tables are for framed works. Shipping price will be adjusted for mounted works.
