The subject matter is taken from a photograph of Aquilegia 'Nora Barlow', commonly referred to as Columbine, from a series I took at a private garden during Summer in 2014. The garden is located in central Scotland.
Original oil painting, measuring 70 x 70 x 4cm, on a hand-built box canvas stretcher. The sides have pristine, white edges, and it is sealed using Gamvar archive quality picture varnish. I use only professional grade Old Holland and Michael Harding oils, for their high pigment content, and excellent light fastness.
