Original artwork description:

Coffee Break is an elegant mixed media work in the main colours of black and white with some orange and touches of red and yellow.

On the left lower side you can see a cut out from a paper. Coffee and reading the paper - perfect relaxation!

I saw this headline "The Great Genius" in a newspaper while having a cup of coffee and I had the idea of creating a painting with this cut-out as a collage piece and some cups. So I used it - kind of tongue in cheek.

To get the rich texture which is of course even more visible if you see the original artwork I used ashes and bitumen as well as white house paint. I also glued crumbled silk paper with high qualitiy wood glue onto the canvas. The other materials I used are artist quality acrylic colours and artist qualitiy oil pastels. I really enjoyed the process of creating this work.

The sides are painted white but left visible traces of the development of this work.

I added a hook on the back on the canvas so it is ready to hang - you just need a nail.

The work is signed and dated on the back and sealed - including the sides - with artist quality glossy varnish.

In inches it is 19.7 x 15.7 x 1.8

"Coffee Break" was Art of the Day in September 2017.
