Artist's description:

The painting “Cock Fight” depicts a Balinese ceremony called “Mecaru”, which is a tribute to “Bhuta Kala” - energy that is not good that often disrupts mankind. We Hindu people give offerings to Bhuta Kala, so that the ceremony will not be disrupted. Unfortunately, these offerings were misunderstood over time and infiltrated with gambling, which is what modern cock fights have become in Bali. Hopefully, we all do not continue to interpret any cock fights incorrectly, as this tradition was inherited from our ancestors.
