Original artwork description:

The inspiration for this painting comes from a desire to get up close and personal with a particular color - pink, brilliant pink in this case. And what better way to capture pink than with a flower - a peony.
From this desire also emerges the format - a small three-dimensional thick canvas painting, of a photorealistic peony. Painted on all sides, the image flows around the canvas edges lending it the 3-D effect.
Ideally, this painting is meant to be displayed as a floral trio with the two other closeup florals in this series. This trio can cheer any space

Materials used:

Oil on primed fine grain canvas
