This painting is a study of a couple of clam shells I found on the beach on the west coast of Scotland. It could have been anywhere from the Isle of Skye to Mallaig or Ardnamurchan on the mainland. The colour is slightly pinker than reality but the drawing is true to life. One of them also has a tiny limpet friend hanging on!
I enjoy working from life, observing closely and translating what I see rather than copying it.
Acrylic painted in thin layers in the style of a watercolour on medium weight watercolour paper.
