Acrylic on re-purposed card.
I found a piece of packaging at my local supermarket - it was about to be thrown away. It was the type that went in between the layers of cans.
I saw potential for this to be a great 'blank canvas' for a painting - so I rescued it.
I found the circle indents put the image of New York in my head, and then I thought of Art Deco pattern, and then the Chrysler Building. I felt that colour was important, as the cardboard was plain brown and I wanted to give it a completely new life.
