The 54 Chimeras of Notre dame de Paris were added by the architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc between the 1843 and the 1864. They are not gargoyles: they are purely decorative representations of imaginary hybrid creatures. The artwork is based on a series of my photographs of Paris.
